Can you get my mitsubishi vs-5071 TV to work?

We got this TV from some people my grandma knew and they said it worked just fine. We got it for free because they were moving to a smaller home and just wanted to get rid of it. So we lugged this fat thing into our living room and plugged it in. There was to picture, and no "natural" sound coming from the TV. But there was a sound. There was a very rapid clicking sound coming from the lower panel from the TV. This sound would only happen when we plugged the TV into an outlet. So we think it has to do with the power supply but we aren't sure.
