Why do people ociate singing pop and jazz music with gay men and women when...?

Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Vaughn Monroe, Rudy Vallee, The Four Lads, none of these guys were guy and they all sang traditional pop/broadway and jazz. So why do people make this umption?
