Please read this (begining of a story)?
You must like writing. Fine. But you would be better off if you liked it enough to study how it is done. The questions you ask will be swept away if you read a few how-to books on the subject. Begin by getting a copy of ON WRITING by Stephen King. He is not my favorite author but he has some interest in helping people like you get started. He walks you through the basics in the latter part of the book. You don't need to waste your energy and weaken your enthusiasm for writing by learning everything the hard way. Start with the basics and then get a plan for what you want to do or the story you want to tell. When you can tell on-your-own why this beginning is weak (and it is) you will know enough to begin with confidence. Don't try a shortcut to success unless your the genius type.
