Can anybody tell how to convert wma's into mp3's or a format that will work on an ipod?

iTunes can support .wma files. Drag them to iTunes, and iTunes will convert them to a iPod compatible formatde (AAC, M4A or MP3. see your default setting) directly. Then you can drag the converted files to iPod.
